Student Roost – The Old Firestation

We’ve shot virtual tours for a number of Student Roost’s accommodation sites over the last couple of years, but this was something special. £35 million pounds has been spent transforming the 80 year old former Fire Station into modern and spacious student accommodation. Some features have stayed, of course, such as oak panelling and Art Deco lifts. Even the firemans pole is still there, just for decorative purposes only. For this restoration K4 Architects Ltd won Channel 4’s Great British Buildings Restoration of the Year 2017 as well as winning RICS Innovation through Design Award and their Conservation Award.
